Upcoming Michigan graduates will learn from world renowned creative team in the beauty and fashion industry.
East Lansing-- Douglas J is preparing to host their 2010 Career Fair. This annual event allows Douglas J Aveda Institute students to participate in professional development presentations as well as meet state-wide and regional employers in the salon and cosmetology industry.
This year, Douglas J is proud to feature the redCHOCOLATE Team. Combined, David Adams, Virginia Meyer and Rudy Miles have over 50 years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry and will be doing a 90 minute presentation on hair color and make-up techniques using cutting edge technology. “redCHOCOLATE is the new approach to hair color education—an intelligent upgrade of the status quo, created under the belief that a hair colorist is not only an artist but also a professional,” says David Adams, President of redCHOCOLATE.
Douglas J Aveda Institutes make the investment in their students to provide an education that is full of real life experience and teachers that are committed to excellence. The redChocolate training program is advanced for even successful cosmetologists, so this is an amazing opportunity for students that are preparing to enter the work force and is free of charge for Douglas J students.
After this presentation, students will have the opportunity to meet with salon professionals to make connections for job placement upon graduation. Last year Douglas J hosted over 30 salons in the tri-state area to meet with prospective employees. “We are proud of our students and the training they receive at our Institutes. We are confident in their abilities and think they are great prospects for leading salons across the state and even across the Country,” says T.J. Weaver, Vice President of Education for Douglas J.
Douglas J students become licensed and are typically able to begin working in a salon without a lot of the learning curve, both technically and professionally, that other graduates experience because the curriculum is designed to provide business experience not just technical information.
